From Monday 20th April, we are changing the way we teach your son/daughter at home. We will be using Microsoft Teams as our new ‘virtual school’ allowing us to direct learning and communicate with students more clearly. Please visit the News page for more information

Media Studies

This is a popular subject choice with our GCSE students and covers topics ranging from social media and advertising to film and music.

It is a very practical course but it also develops creative and analytical skills as well.

Students have the opportunity to take part in a number of trips and visits to the theatre in London, the Sky Sports studios and international film events in Manchester for example.

Key Stage 4

This two-year course looks at modern media such as film, TV, music videos and advertising. It is a mixture of theory and practical based learning, with students being able to create their own media products in year 11.

Media Studies complements subjects such as English, Business, ICT and Graphics and provides students with an excellent foundation for future careers in various creative fields such as journalism or TV production.
