Year 7 Transition Week

We again had a very successful year seven transition week in August.

Students were involved in a range of fun and challenging activities across a number of subject areas. These included bridge building, languages (constructing an Eiffel Tower), drama, sports, swimming and learning to make delicious bread and cakes. They even looked at how to survive being shipwrecked on a desert Island through filtering water and raft building!

All the activities encouraged students to problem solve, work in teams and earn merits for prizes in our final assembly. We really enjoyed getting to know so many new faces and seeing students demonstrate real grit and determination to succeed in the tasks they were given. Everyone had a great time meeting new staff and making lots of new friends. As always our peer mentor volunteers were super role models, guiding and working with our new year seven students throughout the week.
