Maths wow work from year 8 – they were looking at Maya number system as part of WHS culture day.
They learnt about the 20 base system compared to the 10 base system we use in school. The class wrote numbers using the Maya number system and worked out what numbers were written in the Maya number system. The class could see the similarities as well as differences between our number system, the Maya number system and binary number system.
