The school was visited by a team of Ofsted Inspectors on November 16-17th 2021. There has been no change to the school’s overall judgement of good as a result of this initial (section 8) inspection. I am pleased to see that the hard work of our curriculum leaders and subject teachers for recent developments in the quality of curriculum is recognised in the report as this has been a significant undertaking.
You can download the full Ofsted report (PDF) or view on the Ofsted website – There is much in the report that students, staff, governors and parents should be justifiably proud of. The report includes the following highlights:
“Pupils enjoy coming to school”
“Leaders have high expectations for pupils’ achievement”
“Pupils enjoy a varied range of enrichment opportunities”
“Pupils typically wear their uniforms with pride and look smart”
“There is a clear policy and procedure in place to deal with bullying. Staff believe that pupils are safe in school and that leaders deal effectively with any form of bullying”
I am delighted that the inspection process has identified the same strengths and areas for improvement in school that I (since my appointment) and the senior team had already identified. I will be looking to parents to support the improvements in school, in particular the work of the school in:
- Building a stronger anti-bullying culture
- Improving attendance
- Maintaining high uniform standards
- Reducing exclusions
